The Full Story
About us
Spin & Flow Pole Studios are pole and dance studios located in Ipswich, Suffolk and Colchester, Essex. We offer a safe and welcoming environment for women and LGBTQ+ students to learn the arts of pole dance, pole tricks, and flexibility.

About the Owner
Ally discovered pole in 2013 and has been passionate about it ever since. She had previously been a yoga instructor and began teaching pole in 2015 in Boston, USA and later in her home state of California. She loves sharing her passion for pole dance and seeing that passion ignite in others, and she loves the unique and inspiring community that pole creates. Ally moved to the UK with her family in 2022 where she began Spin & Flow as a small home studio. Spin & Flow has since blossomed into two dream-come-true studios and an incredible pole community that she is proud of. Ally is a certified instructor in pole, yoga, and flexibility and a mother of two.

Vision
Spin & Flow Pole Studio is a welcoming, safe space for women and LGBTQ+ people of all genders. We believe cisgender straight men have enough places they can go, so this one is just for us. Here you can tap into your sensual side, gain strength you never knew you had, and feel supported by our amazing students and staff.

Our Team
Our instructors are all Pole and First Aid certified. They're also amazing humans who are excited to lead you on your pole journey.

Pole & Flexibility Instructor
Ally
Ally has been pole dancing since 2013 and teaching since 2015. She loves pole because it allows her and her students to embrace their sensuality and femininity in a way that they can take ownership of outside of the male gaze. She also loves how healing pole can be, and that it gives women a chance to rebuild their relationship with their bodies by learning to appreciate the amazing things the body is capable of. Equally important, Ally loves how much fun pole is! Sharing all of its benefits with others ignites her creativity and her joy. As the Founder of Spin & Flow Pole Studios, she hopes to create a space that is beautiful, authentic, and a vessel for creative expression and strength. Ally is also Yoga and Flexibility certified and loves the mind-body connection of flexibility training.

Pole & Flexibility Instructor
Ray
Ray has been pole dancing since 2010 and began teaching in 2012. She is passionate about movement and has learnt to embrace her body for what it is capable of. Ray loves teaching because it gives her a chance to share her passion with others and to see her students progress not just in their pole skills but also in their confidence. Along the way, Ray wanted to know more about flexibility, so she completed her flexibility and yoga teacher trainings as well. She loves sharing her knowledge of the body and helping students reach their flexibility, pole, and dance goals.

Pole Instructor
Cassie
When Cassie discovered pole in 2019, it started as a way better option to the gym. Pole became a practise where she could improve her fitness, do awesome tricks and spins, and most importantly, feel great doing it. She began training with Spin & Flow in 2023 where she saw a huge improvement in her technique and skills. Getting to know the wonderful Spin & Flow students is often the highlight of her week and she still attends as many classes as possible to better her practice! Since becoming instructor certified in October 2023, Cassie now teaches beginner and intermediate pole and also incorporates her love for conditioning into her classes. She absolutely loves teaching pole. Sharing her passion and uplifting others warms her heart. Cassie’s goal is to create a safe, fun, and uplifting environment for students to find their own style and passion. Let the pole addiction begin!

Pole Instructor
Lucy
Lucy began her pole journey in early 2023 at Spin & Flow and immediately started taking every class she could! She fell in love with the tricks, combos, spins, and strength building, and then fell even more in love with the dance side of pole. She appreciates how both being strong and delicate blend so well together in pole, particularly in spin pole. As an Instructor, Lucy adores seeing people achieve moves that they haven’t been able to do before and encouraging them when they doubt themselves. She also loves the grace and fluidity of spin pole and teaching students how to find that in themselves.
